Gina's Story: Pedaling in Colorado and beyond

Pedaling in Colorado and beyond

For many years, I tried to hide my MS. After publishing my Amazon bestseller, Stumble to Rise, I “came out” in a big way. I began sharing and connecting with others who have multiple sclerosis.

Twenty nine years since diagnosis, my brain and spinal cord are now covered in lesions.  This disease has impacted me in many ways including my ability to balance. To get around safely, I use tools like a rollator and mobility scooter. MS stole my sense of balance and the ability to ride a bicycle.

I am very grateful to have met Michelle Keating. Living with MS and mobility challenges herself, she encouraged me to try her recumbent tricycle. Those three wheels gave me freedom and independence that I had lost! Thanks to Michelle, I now ride 3 days a week which is therapy for my body and mind.

I am one of ten participants training for a September Adaptive Cycling Adventure in Colorado! With Scott as my support partner, I can’t wait to join our fellow MS comrades in Colorado Springs. This amazing cycling program is offered by MS Bright Spots of Hope. I’m proud to serve on the Board of Directors as an ambassador for this impactful organization. I’ve taken on this pivotal role because I’m passionate about the mission to empower, educate, and inspire HOPE for those of us who have multiple sclerosis!

Please consider a donation to fund this cycling adventure and other programs that focus on fitness, education, and inspiration: fitness events twice a month, four months of aquatics classes, dance classes, quarterly educational and social dinner events and much more.

I greatly appreciate your support and generosity. Every dollar helps us to “be inspired and live hopefully”. Of course, your donation is tax deductible.

Thank you and Pedal On!
